Welcome to Hendal Primary School

Hendal Primary School is an ambitious, nurturing and inclusive school where children, families and staff feel a sense of belonging. We are proud to meet the individual needs of every child and we have high expectation of learning and behaviour. Everyone aspires to be the best they can be.

We have an exciting Curriculum where children make cross curricular links between subjects. We offer a wide variety of practical lessons, educational visits, class visitors and residentials that reinforce our desire for experiential learning. We value the impact that our curriculum drivers and good quality teaching has on children’s outcomes and achievements.

Children learn in a secure and nurturing environment. Our teaching staff are dedicated and highly skilled. We are supported by a keen governing body who play an active role in school improvement.

We have strong Parent Partnerships and we value the interest and involvement that parents contribute to their child’s education. We have supportive links with the local community and we promote our British Values across the curriculum. The positive relationships we develop between everyone in school are a real strength and we understand the importance of having fun whilst we learn.

Children are encouraged to ‘have a voice’ and great emphasis is placed on children thinking for themselves and making the ‘right’ choices. We strive to develop independent lifelong learners whilst celebrating the achievements of all children. We recognise the important influence our school has on young minds and we endeavour to shape children’s lives so that they can become responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to our society.

Our Vision Statement

Hendal Primary School is a welcoming, nurturing and inclusive school where children, families and staff feel they belong.

Our holistic curriculum teaches children to aspire to be the best they can be. Working alongside our parents and local community we offer children an engaging and experiential curriculum that promotes lifelong learning.

We value the uniqueness of individual learners and believe that all children can achieve. We understand the important influence our school has on young minds and the capacity to shape children’s lives. We empower children to become responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to our diverse wider world.
